Overview
IPD were commissioned to undertake investigations into potential safety-focussed design solutions for any identified risks and concerns along Red Hills Road, Massey, between Birdwood Road and Nelson Road, in the Henderson-Massey Local Board area. The project complexities included overlapping Local Board divisions, varying site posted speed limits and land use, rural corridor 'feel', narrow road corridor, winding topography, and localised crash history concerns. The final design implements route wide delineation signage and marking improvements as well as an active warning sign at one particular location of concern.
