Overview
IPD were commissioned to undertake the detailed design of proposed improvements at the intersection of St Heliers Bay Road and St Johns Road, St Heliers, in the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board area. The project complexities included conversion of right turning traffic provision from St Johns Road from one lane to two lanes, arterial road and bus route vehicle allowance, over-dimensional clearance requirements, lane realignment, existing cycle lane implications, bus shelter relocation, new shared path, and bus stop adjustments.
