Overview
IPD were commissioned to undertake the raised pedestrian crossing upgrade at the existing raised table location outside No. 81 Saddleback Rise, Murrays Bay, in the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board area. The project complexities included significant overland flow paths, steep pedestrian grades, the side road's single-sided footpath, and proximity of nearby driveways and the intersection with Aotearoa Terrace. With these complexities, consideration also needed to be taken for the existing stormwater issues, narrow pedestrian desire line and necessity for speed calming in this area.
Key features
- Reconstructed 'soft' raised table
- New footpath
- Road regrading
- Reconstructed pram ramps
- Reconstructed kerb and channel
- Upgraded stormwater catchpits
- Parking restrictions in accordance with pedestrian crossing standards
